The foundation of Hope Gain Engineering is rooted in the profound technical heritage and expertise of our founder, Mr. KM Cheng, who brings over 20 years of distinguished, hands-on experience to Asia’s trenchless and tunneling sectors.
Prior to establishing Hope Gain Engineering, Mr. Cheng served as the Head of Operations and Maintenance at L&M Pipeline Service Pte Ltd, a renowned listed engineering group in Singapore. As a pioneer in regional trenchless technology, he spearheaded and successfully executed a massive 270-kilometer sewerage network rehabilitation project for Singapore’s Ministry of the Environment (now PUB) in 1997. Following this milestone, Mr. Cheng joined L&W, one of the premier engineering firms to introduce advanced trenchless technology to Hong Kong, where he was responsible for the strategic planning, engineering design, procurement, and final handover of numerous landmark infrastructure projects.
Leveraging his precision judgment in TBM selection, microtunnelling configuration, and site operations, Mr. Cheng is frequently engaged by major main contractors and engineering consultancies to conduct technical feasibility studies for complex trenchless projects, offering high-value, cost-effective expert advice.
